Kings rookie Tyrese Haliburton to miss time with wrist injury

Haliburton suffered the injury on Thursday against the Rockets when he landed directly on his left hand.

On Saturday, Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton said rookie Tyrese Haliburton will be out until at least Wednesday with a bone bruise in his left wrist, according to James Ham of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Haliburton suffered the injury on Thursday against the Houston Rockets when he landed directly on his left hand. He managed to play through the injury but Walton said he is still sore and can’t really move too well on the court.

The 12th overall pick was ruled out of playing on Saturday versus the Rockets and Monday against the Golden State Warriors. He will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Sacramento at the conclusion of the team’s road trip on Monday.

Haliburton is averaging 10.6 points, 4.4 assists and two rebounds in five games while he is shooting 50% from 3-point range this season. He earned praise from Walton due to his ability to hit clutch shots this season, something that was on display Tuesday versus the Denver Nuggets.

The team will provide an update on Haliburton’s status next week.
