Kicker Jake Seibert loses his black stripe

Ohio State announced a couple more black-stripe alerts this week. One of those was freshman kicker Jake Seibert who lost his on Wednesday.

We may be in the midst of the 2020 Ohio State football season, but the parade of Buckeye newcomers having their black-stripes removed continues. And … in case you missed it, we are here to continue to bring them to you.

The lastest to shed his black stripe was kicker Jake Seibert on Wednesday. Out of Cincinnati La Salle High School, the 6-foot, 1-inch, 190-pounder was the No. 2 rated kicker in the 2020 class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He chose Ohio State over places like Michigan State, UCLA, and Temple.

And he had his moment in the sun this week when he was “officially” welcomed into the brotherhood.

“I just want to thank God for giving me the opportunity,” Seibert said. “Also want to thank the strength staff and coaches. Go Bucks!”

You can watch a moment he’ll remember for the rest of his life by clicking on the below video shared by the official Twitter account of Ohio State Football.
