KNOXVILLE — University of Tennessee cross country runner Katie Thronson received a pair of weekly awards.
Thronson, a junior for the Lady Vols cross country team was named was named the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I National Athlete of the Week. She was also tabbed Southeastern Conference Runner of the Week after winning the UAB Blazer Classic.
Thronson completed the women’s 6K run with a time of 20 minutes, 13.15 seconds.
The field in Birmingham, Alabama was deep and talented as defending SEC and national champion Arkansas competed there along with national qualifier Florida State.
Thronson is a native of Spokane, Washington.
