Former Ohio State big man Kaleb Wesson appears just inside the latest Rookie Wire NBA mock draft for 2020. But where, and with what team?

What Brian Kalbrosky of Rookie Wire says

“Kaleb Wesson averaged 14.0 points with 9.3 rebounds, adding one block per game, in 2019-20. He connected on 1.5 shots per game from downtown while shooting 41.1% from beyond the arc.”

What we say

I’m on the fence with Wesson. He’s going to be an end of the draft type of prospect because of his lack of athleticism and height for the NBA game. He’s not tall enough to be a presence on the post at the game’s highest level and doesn’t have the quick-twitch ability to be explosive enough on the outside.

That being said, he did show a willingness to work his tail off to make his game — and body — better. Some NBA team will probably take that and run with it. Whether or not he gets drafted though is the question. It’s going to be close.

In the end, I think he ends up being a very good European player, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
