Tennessee incoming freshman Justine Pissott scored 12 points for Team USA in its 84-40 victory against Brazil in the semifinals of the 2022 FIBA Women’s Americas Championship Saturday.
The win clinched Team USA a berth in the gold medal game of the tournament Sunday at Estadio Obras Sanitarias in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Team USA (5-0) will face Canada Sunday at 2 p.m. EDT. There, Team USA will seek its 10th consecutive gold medal in the event, and the 11th since the tournament’s inception in 1988.
Pissott, a five-star recruit from Toms River, New Jersey and graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School, scored her points from beyond the 3-point arc (4-for-8).
She also had five rebounds, three rebounds and one steal for Team USA.
