Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields Heisman odds, according to several sites, have increased. When news broke about Trevor Lawrence’s positive COVID-19 test, his odds dropped. After the games on Saturday, Lawrence dropped even further according to some sites. Another missed game next week against Notre Dame will probably not help his case either. We wait to see what BetMGM‘s new odds will be, but we are starting to get a picture of potential changes.
Taking over in first place is actually a tie between Justin Fields and Mac Jones on some sites, but on others, Jones is slightly ahead of Fields. As long as Fields keeps performing at the level he has the first two games he should stay up near the top. Fields is throwing at an astounding 87.3% completion rate, 594 yards, and 6 touchdowns, which is vaulting him to the top of the boards. Below the top three is BYU quarterback Zach Wilson, Alabama receiver DeVonta Smith, and Florida quarterback Kyle Trask, but they are seen as long-shots at this point.

Justin Fields has been on absolute fire through the first two games and has immediately cemented his case to be at the top of the Heisman boards. As the season goes along the odds will continue to change, but as long as Fields keeps on this pace, he will easily be one of the top contenders all the way to the ceremony on December 12th.
