It’s very early to know who might sneak up and win the best individual trophy in all of American sports, but that doesn’t stop the sportsbooks and oddsmakers from putting out some very early lines anyway. After all, we know some returning college football players have a good chance of being really good.
On that note, our friends at BetMGM have released some betting odds on the Heisman Trophy for this coming college football season. Who knows what that season will look like, or when it will be played, but if it is, someone’s bringing home the bronze statue.
It might as well be Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields. In fact, according to BetMGM, the only Heisman finalist back for this year is the early odds on favorite to win it. He is listed at +260 — meaning you’d have to bet 100 dollars to win $260, Just behind Fields is Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence at +450.

There’s a decent drop off from there, but here’s how things line up for the top ten:
Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State – +260
Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson – +450
Jamie Newman, QB, Wake Forest – +1,000
D’Eriq King, QB, Miami – +1,100
Spencer Rattler, QB, Oklahoma – +1,400
Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson – +1,400
Mac Jones, QB, Alabama – +2,000
Myles Brennan, QB, LSU – +2,000
Sam Ehlinger, QB, Texas – +2,000
Bo Nix, QB, Auburn – +2,500
By the way, those are great odds for Fields. A lot of sites have Trevor Lawrence as the favorite. However, with the Ohio State quarterback operating under a system he’ll know much better in year two behind a veteran offensive line with some fantastic weapons on offense, he should put up some pinball numbers this fall.
Now, about the season …
