Tennessee second-year head coach Josh Heupel met with media Monday ahead of playing Pittsburgh.

Heupel discussed the availability for redshirt senior linebacker Juwan Mitchell.

“Juwan’s ability to be able to be healthy enough to play for us, we’ll find out here at the end of the week,” Heupel said.

Mitchell appeared in three games for the Vols last season, totaling eight tackles and one pass deflection.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Mitchell suffered a shoulder injury and underwent surgery in 2021.

Mitchell transferred to Tennessee from Texas, appearing in 21 games from 2019-20 for the Longhorns.

Below are Mitchell’s stats during his college career.
