After suffering an ugly-looking finger injury during Monday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid simply got the finger reset and taped and returned to the game, contributing 18 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists in the team’s 120-113 win.
After the game, Embiid admitted that the injury was painful and that it was limiting him on the court, particularly when trying to rebound. He also left the door open to it causing him to miss Thursday’s game with the Celtics.
On Tuesday, Embiid missed practice as he was undergoing further testing on the finger at an off-site location.

At this point, it’s tough to draw any real conclusions as to what that means for Embiid’s status for Thursday. It makes sense that the team wants to take an abundance of caution with their franchise big man and would try to gather as much information as possible before making any decisions.
With that big game against the Celtics rapidly approaching, we’ll be waiting for updates on the big man.
