Joel Embiid, Josh Richardson out vs. Suns, update on Ben Simmons’ surgery

The Philadelphia 76ers will be missing Joel Embiid and Josh Richardson against the Phoenix Suns and there is an update on Ben Simmons.

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently banged up. They have been dealing with injuries the majority of the bubble thus far as they have had a few of their rotational guys were dealing with injuries, but now, they are dealing with a lot of issues to their main guys.

Already missing Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers and the injury is enough to keep him out on Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns. The team will also be without Josh Richardson to rest him after his big game on Sunday. The team has a back-to-back with the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.

On top of that, Tobias Harris and Al Horford will be questionable for the game due to right ankle soreness for Harris and left ankle soreness for Horford.

As for Simmons, he went back to Philadelphia to undergo surgery on his left knee and the team said he will undergo a post-operation evaluation in two weeks. However, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski still reports that Simmons is most likely done for the season.

The Sixers will definitely need other guys to step up on Tuesday against Devin Booker and the red hot Suns. [lawrence-related id=36637,36627,36617]
