Jamal Adams continued to use his platform to speak out against social and racial injustice on Friday, joining protestors in his hometown of Dallas.
The Jets safety shared a video of himself marching on Friday night. In the clip, Adams can be seen with one fist up in the air while “Black Lives Matter” chants echo around him.
They say every man is defined by his reaction to any given situation.

Adams has been outspoken in the days since George Floyd, an African American man, died at the hands of Minneapolis police. Derek Chauvin, one of four officers charged in the case, was filmed restraining Floyd with a knee to his neck for nearly nine minutes. Chauvin, who is white, has been charged with second-degree murder.
Protests like the one Adams participated in have popped up across the country since Floyd’s death. Adams, prior to marching on Friday, has been active on social media, initially using the space to issue a statement that said “stop killing us.” Adams has since taken aim at Drew Brees and Jake Fromm for controversial remarks they made and took part in a video in which NFL stars demanded the league do more to fight back against racism and police brutality. Commissioner Roger Goodell responded to the video Friday, saying the league was “wrong” to not listen to players sooner. He committed to helping and encouraged peaceful protest. The league had previously banned kneeling during the national anthem.
Adams, who has never been shy about voicing his opinion, has been no different over the last few days when it comes to issues beyond the gridiron. If his march appearance and social media presence of late are any indications, that won’t change anytime soon.
