Jets defender says Bills’ Josh Allen pleads with refs for penalties

#Jets defender forgets how Josh Allen handled critics like before like Jalen Ramsey…

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen doesn’t have to look far for motivation against the New York Jets in Week 9.

It will be just a few feet away on the Jets defensive line.

New York pass rusher John Franklin-Myers had some choice words for the QB he’s set to face on Sunday. According to ESPN, Franklin-Myers suggested that Allen is a bit of a complainer.

Franklin-Myers, fresh off a roughing the passer penalty in his team’s last game, said that Allen is one that “pleads” to referees for calls during games. Franklin-Myers did note that Allen has the talent to make things happen, but didn’t hold back on his criticism.

“He does a good job of breaking tackles and getting into guys’ heads and baiting guys into certain things, pleading with the refs and getting some of those calls,” Franklin-Myers said. “But it’s part of the game. It’s NBA-like. That’s what the NFL is kind of turning into. Hey, the referees can’t see everything and their job is to calls some of those things.

“Hey, if you can fake it until you make it, then that’s good for you, too.”

Franklin-Myers is entitled to his own opinions, Allen might complain, but he doesn’t exactly get many calls.

At least, not on plays against himself.

Through eight games, a roughing the passer call has only occurred once involving Allen.

Perhaps Franklin-Myers has a bit of envy on his mind. He has faced Buffalo three times in past two years. His team has lost all three and been outscored 90 to 37.

Allen has not had a chance to respond to the accusation of complaining. He did his weekly media session prior to Franklin-Myers revealing his thoughts.

However, Allen did put some respect on the Jets (5-3) defense. New York has been a top-10 unit throughout this season, and the Bills (6-1) QB can see why.

“CJ Mosely is playing at a high level again, and if you look at the interior of their defensive line with Quinnen Williams, he’s one of the most, if not the most, disruptive interior D-linemen in the game right now,” Allen said via video conference. “You look at the corners with their high draft pick in (Sauce) Gardner–He’s playing really well right now. We’ve got to be ready for everything they throw at us.”

As if beating a talented group wasn’t motivation enough, Franklin-Myers might have put the cherry on top.
