Jayson Tatum to represent Boston Celtics at 2023 NBA 3-Point Contest

Jayson Tatum, who came up short in 2021, will once again represent the Boston Celtics at the NBA’s 3-point contest this weekend.

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum will reportedly participate in this year’s 3-Point contest as part of the NBA’s All-Star festivities this coming weekend. According to Shams Charania of the Athletic, Tatum joins a star-studded field alongside Kevin Huerter, Tyler Herro, Tyrese Haliburton, Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons, and 2020 winner Buddy Hield.

Tatum will seek to become just the third Celtics player to ever win the contest. Paul Pierce won the 3-Point contest back in 2010, while Larry Bird won it thrice in the ’80s. Tatum was a part of the event in 2021.

On top of participating in the 3-Point contest, Tatum will also server as a starter in this year’s All-Star Game. This is the former Duke Blue Devil’s fourth All-Star nod, and first time earning starting honors. (Last season Tatum eventually started in place of an injured Kevin Durant.)
