Despite multiple reports on Tuesday that legendary center Jason Kelce would be retiring after the Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff loss — in which we saw him get choked up and share a sweet moment with his family — he’s not saying one way or another on the New Heights podcast ep that dropped on Wednesday.

Kelce said he didn’t think you could make a retirement decision in the postgame moment with so much emotion, and he promised that he wasn’t trying to draw his decision out.

“When it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it’ll be done in a way that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and what has led to the career I’ve had,” he said. “I don’t think that it would be respectful or even accurate to be able to do that right after a game like that.”

But there was a moment that Kelce broke down while talking to his brother Travis.

“Lotta guys [said]: ‘If that is your last game, I feel sorry for you.’ I’m like, ‘Don’t feel sorry for me, mother [expletive]. I had a [expletive] …” Then he trailed off, and you could hear him reacting with emotion.

Travis replied, “Hell yeah, man.”
