Caris LeVert may not be the oldest player on Brooklyn’s Disney bubble roster, but make no mistake: for the time being, this is his team.
With that, a lot falls on LeVert’s shoulders. But, if nothing else, it’s a chance to show the organization he can be the Nets’ third star — not only from a talent standpoint, but also as a leader.
Although the Nets lost two of their three Disney bubble scrimmages, Jarrett Allen feels LeVert has taken to his new role, as he explained to reporters on a Zoom call on Monday following Brooklyn’s loss to the Utah Jazz, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post:
You saw it last season. … He was just starting to come out and be that. You saw it in the Celtics game where he scored [51 points]. So, now that he’s here, he finally has the chance to be able to lead us and he’s done a tremendous job with that.

LeVert’s next big test comes on Friday, when the Brooklyn takes on the Orlando Magic in their first seeding game at 2:30 p.m.
