Jamel Herring vs. Shakur Stevenson odds, picks and prediction: WBO junior lightweight championship

Breaking down Saturday’s Jamel Herring vs. Shakur Stevenson WBO junior lightweight championship fight, with boxing odds, picks and predictions.

In a 12-round junior lightweight title bout, Jamel Herring and Shakur Stevenson meet Saturday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta in a fight. The main card begins at 7:30 p.m. ET, with the main event expected to take place at approximately 10:30 p.m. ET. Below, we break down the Herring vs. Stevenson odds and lines, with boxing picks and predictions.

Herring puts his WBO belt on the line in Atlanta, defending his strap for the fifth time. He topped Carl Frampton last time out at Caesars Palace Dubai, picking up the TKO win April 3.

Before that, he won by DQ over Jonathan Oquendo in The Bubble at MGM Grand in Las Vegas Sept. 5, 2020. Before that fight, he picked up four consecutive unanimous-decision wins.

The former Olympian Stevenson enters the ring three inches shorter than his counterpart, and Herring also holds a four-inch reach advantage, too.

Stevenson won by unanimous decision last time out against Jeremia Nakathila, and three of his past four fights have gone the distance.

Herring vs. Stevenson predictions and picks

Stevenson (-1800) is too heavy of a favorite on the two-way line, costing you 18 times your potential return. That’s too expensive to take the challenger. Even on the three-way, Stevenson (-850) is quite a bit expensive.

Stevenson ticked off plenty of knockouts early in his career, but as the competition has improved, he has been forced to go longer into the night. In fact, three of his past four fights have needed the judges to decide a winner on points. As such, playing OVER 10.5 ROUNDS (-230) is worth a small-unit wager, and YES (-190): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE is an even better play.

The card can be viewed on ESPN+ with the main card beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET and the main event at 10:30 p.m. ET.
