Jaguars have Reid Ferguson thinking Bills fans can attend games

Buffalo Bills long snapper Reid Ferguson on fans attending games at New Era Field.

It’s still unclear what is going to happen with Buffalo Bills fans at New Era Field this fall.

Most recently, New York State released updated guidelines for professional sports resuming play as part of the state’s reopening as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic continues. In it, fans are not permitted to attend games just yet.

But some of the latest national news in regard to fans attending games, specifically involving the Jacksonville Jaguars, has one Bills player thinking there’s a chance Bills Mafia should be in the seats in Orchard Park next season.

The Jags announced that the club, like the Bills, will follow local guidelines in regard to attendance. Apparently that means the Jaguars are allowed to have up to 25 percent of their stadium filled, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. In response, Buffalo long snapper Reid Ferguson thinks Bills fans should be allowed the same opportunity.

There’s still a long way until the regular season in September. Things could change in both Buffalo and Jacksonville before then. But to Ferguson’s point, he’s right. In his message, the specialist is referring to the uptick in outbreaks in the state of Florida, in lieu of the Jags’ announcement.

According to the New York Times, cases in New York State are down 52 percent since May 29. In Florida since May 4, cases are up 1,393 percent. A start contrast to each other. Because of this, Gov. Andrew Cuomo continually has update travel advisory in regard to folks traveling from other states to New York. Currently the number of states that have this advisory penned against them by the Governor is 19. Among them? Florida.

The Bills already have reportedly been looking at seating arrangements in New Era Field and how the club could set up socially-distancing seating capacities.

The NFL is insisting things will get going in the league on time as the season approaches, including training camp at the end of July. Day-by-day we’ll see how much of things stay according to plan for the league.
