Jaguars finalize dates for 2021 preseason games

The Jags’ preseason will involve one game shown on ESPN, giving the nation a good look at Trevor Lawrence.

With the Jacksonville Jaguars’ preseason opponents already being revealed, the team announced the finalization of the dates for each game Wednesday.
Their first game, which will be against the Cleveland Browns, will take place on Saturday at TIAA Bank Field on Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. EST. It will be one of two preseason games that are broadcasted on Action News Jax CBS 47.

Their second game, which the details were already known for, will take place against the New Orleans Saints at Mercedes-Benz Superdome. That game will be shown on Monday at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN. With the NFL deducting a preseason game, this will likely be the game where the starters see the field the most, which is important as new quarterback Trevor Lawrence will be making his case to start.

Lastly, the Jags will travel again to Dallas on Sunday, Aug. 29 to take on the Cowboys. That game will also be in CBS 47, but kickoff will be at 1 p.m. EST. With the league this being the last preseason game, it will be a contest where a lot of bubble players could see the field and the remaining camp battles are settled.
