Jadeveon Clowney, Denzel Ward still not back at practice

The Browns were again missing five players, with two names standing out among the rest

The Thursday injury report has dropped for the Cleveland Browns, and they were once again with five players. Defensive end Myles Garrett and tackle Jack Conklin were given days of rest, while the Browns were also without offensive lineman Joe Haeg, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, and cornerback Denzel Ward. Both Clowney and Ward have now missed practices on back-to-back days.

There is reason to think the Browns are giving Clowney time between games to rest an ankle that is still bothering him, but Denzel Ward missing practice again is not a great sign. As Ward continues to navigate the concussion protocol, the optimism of Ward playing Sunday against the New England Patriots is shrinking.
