“It was a business decision:” CeeDee Lamb on the Red River Showdown Quarterback Change

Former Oklahoma Sooners Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the Red River quarterback change.

Former Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is familiar with the energy and the emotions that come from playing in the Red River Showdown. The Sooners went 3-1 vs. the Texas Longhorns (including the Big 12 Championship Game in 2018).

In four games, Lamb 25 receptions for 487 yards and six touchdowns. Losing the 2018 game where Oklahoma had to rally to tie it only to lose the game at the end, Lamb understands the highs and lows that come with the OU-Texas game.

So even when the offense was down 14-0, the former Sooners wide receiver didn’t give up because he “knew what the offense [is capable of doing].”

On Wednesday, CeeDee Lamb shared his thoughts on the quarterback change with the media.

It was a business decision. Obviously, Spencer didn’t have the best half he wanted. But obviously the young guy Caleb (Williams) definitely did a great job coming in when it was his time and stepping in.

I’m sure the team will appreciate him and I’m sure Spencer (Rattler) still has the same love he does for the o-line and the team and the chemistry going that’s going on in that locker room.

It’s unclear at this point where the quarterback situation is headed for the Oklahoma Sooners. Lincoln has been reluctant to name a starting quarterback before their matchup with TCU.

Whether it’s Caleb Williams or Spencer Rattler, the Oklahoma Sooners will have a good option at quarterback. Whichever way they go, the most critical thing to CeeDee Lamb?

“Keep it going. We’re undefeated. Boomer.”
