It seems like the Notre Dame staff is looking to add on to the tight end room, the 2021 class already has a commitment from Georgia tight end Cane Berrong and are actively recruiting Ohio TE Mitchell Evans.

This weekend Evans released his Top 10 which included MSU, UVA, FSU and others along with Notre Dame. Evans checks in at 6’7” and 240-pounds which is a very large tight end, he even plays some quarterback for his Wadsworth High School team.

The frame makes me wonder if Evans will actually end up playing tight end at the collegiate level, as his body matures and he adds more weight, the potential for a move to the offensive line increases. There is always a place for athletic offensive tackles in anyone’s locker room. It remains to be seen where Evans will eventually end up, but the Ohioan is more than worth a look at either position and hopefully makes his home for 3-5 years in South Bend.
