In-state 2024 prospect reveals top 5

Gotta get the in-state guys! #GoBlue

Some time ago, it appeared Michigan football had lost an elite prospect who chose rival Notre Dame over Ann Arbor. However, the prospect reneged on that pledge and opened his commitment back up.

2024 West Bloomfield (Michigan) four-star linebacker Brandon Davis-Swain has a great deal of variance in his rankings. Rivals is the highest on him at No. 36 overall, whereas On3’s proprietary rankings doesn’t have him listed — though the On3 industry ranking has him at No. 184 overall. The 247Sports composite has him ranked No. 146 overall and ESPN has him at No. 109.

On Tuesday, Davis-Swain released his top five, and Michigan made the cut, along with Purdue, Colorado, USC and Auburn.

Of course, Davis-Swain’s former head coach in high school, Ron Bellamy, is the wide receivers coach at Michigan. There are no 247Sports crystal ball predictions indicating what his school of choice will be, but the On3 recruiting prediction machine indicates he’ll likely be a Wolverine with a prediction rate of 25.8%.
