Instant analysis, recap of the Bills’ win over the Chiefs

Quick recap of the a big #Bills win:

In a must win, the Buffalo Bills got the job done against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road.

The Bills (7-6) topped the Chiefs (8-5) by a 20-17 final score. It was an up-and-down affair, but Buffalo kept their season alive for the time being, but they’ll have to keep on doing that.

The Bills took a 14-0 lead on the Chiefs thanks to a touchdown catch from running back James Cook and a rush from quarterback Josh Allen.

Just when Buffalo was likely feeling really well with the way things were going… Kansas City stuck around.

Just before halftime, the Chiefs stuck in a touchdown to cut the lead to 14-7.

To their credit, the Bills did add a field goal after the break to add to their lead, 17-7.

But KC just wouldn’t go away. The Chiefs followed up that field goal with a touchdown, marching down the field on a nine-play, 75-yard drive which ended in a Patrick Mahomes touchdown pass.

The emotional swing continued with a Kansas City fumble on their ensuing drive… but that giveaway was sandwiched between two punts by the Bills offense and the next thing we knew, it was tied at 17-17.

It took some justified help from the referees, but after putting away a field goal with five minutes remaining to bring the score to 20-17…. the Chiefs scored a touchdown. Until a flag was thrown.

Chiefs receiver Kadarius Toney lined up offside. Mahomes was mad. But it didn’t matter. That was the game and the Bills are still alive in terms of the postseason.
