Injury Update: Warriors’ Steph Curry says he will play in Game 4 of NBA Finals vs. Celtics

Despite a potential injury, Steph Curry confirmed he will play in Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Celtics.

After scrambling for a loose ball in the fourth quarter of Game 3 against the Boston Celtics, Steph Curry appeared to suffer an injury.

While fighting for the ball, Boston’s Al Horford landed on Curry’s left leg. With the Celtics’ holding a commanding lead after a dominant fourth quarter, Curry checked out of the contest.

Despite a potential unspecified injury, Curry confirmed he would play in Game 4 of the NBA Finals with the Warriors trailing 2-1. Before Game 4 on Thursday, Curry told members of the media he would play on Friday night in Boston.

I’m going to play. That’s all I know right now.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Curry avoided a major issue in his left foot and didn’t undergo an MRI after Game 3.

Trailing 2-1 on the road, the Warriors will need to lean on the eight-time All-Star in Game 4. Through the first three games of the finals, Curry has helped carry Golden State’s offense against Boston’s stout defense.

During the Finals, Curry is averaging 31.3 points on 48.5% shooting from the floor and 48.6% from deep. Curry is also averaging five rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.7 steals in 35.9 minutes per contest against the Celtics.

Game 4 between the Warriors and Celtics is set for 6 p.m. PT on Friday at Boston’s TD Garden.
