Injury update: Bills’ Micah Hyde practices but is a name to watch

A bit of an injury update, details on Micah Hyde from #Bills practice:

Sean McDermott dusted off one of his tried and tested descriptions of an injury update on Wednesday. The coach announced that Micah Hyde was not going to practice due to a back injury and McDermott said the Buffalo Bills are taking it “one day a time.”

Turns out Hyde was more on a “one minute at a time” type of timeline.

As is typically the case on media day, McDermott spoke before practice. Moments later, the workout begins, and when it did, there he was, the guy in the shirt with No. 23 on the back.

Right after McDermott said Hyde was set to miss practice, Hyde was there.

Officially, we’re not going to know Hyde’s game day status until Thursday. Each week leading up to a contest, both teams release an injury report three times, one per day, Wednesday to Friday when it’s a Sunday kickoff (like it is most weeks).

However, with the Bills and New York Jets opening the 2023 season on Monday Night Football, all those injury reports move back one day. That means Thursday to Saturday this upcoming week.

According to the Buffalo News, Hyde was working out during some individual drills and warmups. Once team workouts began, he was being stretched out by a trainer.

For the time being, all we really have is media updates on Hyde. But trusting your eye might be better.
