Penn State looks to avoid a look-ahead situation this weekend when they visit Maryland for a Big Ten East Division game. The Nittany Lions have a massive home game next week against Michigan but they cannot afford to look ahead past this week’s game with Maryland. The Terrapins have one of the Big Ten’s most potent passing offenses and they are looking to snap a three-game losing streak. And after getting shut out by Penn State last season, this is a game that has long been circled on the Maryland schedule.
Penn State comes into the week with a 7-1 record and a no. 11 ranking in the first College Football Playoff rankings. Maryland is 5-3 after losing three straight games to Ohio State, Illinois, and Northwestern. Penn State opened as a double-digit favorite on the road this week but the line has come down to Penn State -8.5 as the week has progressed.
