The Big Ten wraps up its 2023-24 men’s college basketball campaign on Sunday with the Iowa Hawkeyes hosting the Illinois Illini in a battle between two midwestern bruisers.
The Hawkeyes put together a modest 18-12 overall record this season along with a mediocre 10-9 mark in conference play. It has been enough to float on USA TODAY Sports’ bracketology bubble, which has them among the first four out. Winners of four of the last five, Iowa still has a chance to make the Big Dance.
In the other corner are the Illini, who come in ranked No. 12 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll with a 22-8 overall tally and a tidy 13-6 record against fellow Big Ten teams. Illinois lost their most recent game at home against the Purdue Boilermakers on Tuesday and will be looking to get back on the winning track.

The Iowa Hawkeyes will host the Illinois Illini on Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT.
Midwestern hoops action does not get much better than this as the home team sports are 12-3 on its own parquet while the visitors are 7-5 away from their friendly confines. There will definitely be a battle on Sunday afternoon.
