The Athletic
Roger McCreary, Pittsburgh Steelers (Pick 52)
Smoke Monday, Chicago Bears (Pick 186)
Zakoby McClain, Los Angeles Chargers (Pick 254)
The Athletic’s seven-round mock (subscription required) has the usual suspects. McCreary carves out his niche in the 45-55 range, this time with a Steelers team that could use some extra firepower at corner with the departure of Joe Haden. Pittsburgh’s defense is vaunted, and McCreary would almost certainly be thrilled at its excellent defensive line making his job a bit easier.
Should Monday end up as a Bear, he’d be unlikely to dethrone DeAndre Houston-Carson for the starting strong safety spot. The Bears also just signed Dane Cruikshank from the Titans, a safety who might siphon into Monday’s special teams chances if he were to end up in Chicago. McClain, meanwhile, would find himself fighting for a spot on a very talented Chargers defensive roster.
