How Auburn stacks up in latest mock drafts

Here is where experts are placing Auburn’s prospects eight days out from the NFL draft:

CBS Sports

Roger McCreary, Baltimore Ravens (Pick 45)

Smoke Monday, Denver Broncos (Pick 152)

Zakoby McClain, Cleveland Browns (Pick 246)

This trio is the most common Auburn contingency among mock drafts that go for all seven rounds. CBS Sports’ latest mock does, and aside from McCreary going just one pick earlier than in Touchdown Wire’s mock, we now have safety [autotag]Smoke Monday[/autotag] and linebacker [autotag]Zakoby McClain[/autotag] taken in the fifth and seventh rounds, respectively.

Smoke Monday would get to learn behind a great safety in Denver’s Justin Simmons to improve his pass coverage and would potentially carve out a role in special teams before getting an opportunity to start. McClain, who is occasionally drafted in mocks as a safety due to his small size, would end up in the same room as standout rookie and upcoming second-year player Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
