One of Texas’ primary transfer portal targets appears to be Houston wide receiver Matthew Golden.
Golden officially entered his name into the transfer portal on Tuesday. Shortly after, predictions came rolling in from national reporters in favor of Texas as the landing spot. According to On3’s Gerry Hamilton, Golden will be in Austin for a visit on Thursday.
In two seasons with Houston, Golden hauled in 76 receptions for 988 yards and 13 touchdowns. An added bonus for the Longhorns is Golden’s threat as a kickoff return specialist, something Texas will lose in wide receiver Xavier Worthy to the 2024 NFL draft this offseason.
247Sports currently ranks Golden as the No. 4 wide receiver in the transfer portal at this time.
