Highly-coveted 2025 quarterback sets return visit with Florida

This blue-chip quarterback will be in the Swamp for the Tennessee game.

Florida football recruiting efforts have been on overdrive recently — not just in the month of June, but also stretching back into the spring months.

Among those wowed by what Billy Napier has cooking in the Swamp is four-star quarterback [autotag]Ryan Montgomery[/autotag] out of Findlay (Ohio) in the 2025 recruiting cycle, who came away from his early April visit with a scholarship offer and a high opinion on the Orange and Blue. Gators quarterback analyst Ryan O’Hara is also feeling very bullish on the rising high school junior.

“We are a go for Sept. 16 at the Swamp! Can’t wait!” Montgomery’s father Mike told Gators Online. This visit date coincides with Florida’s SEC opener against the Tennessee Volunteers.

While there is still plenty of time for the 6-foot-3-inch, 210-pound passer to whittle down his options, the Gators appear to have an inside track on him early thanks to O’Hara’s efforts.

“The biggest thing to date is his, mine, and even our HC’s relationship with O’Hara,” according to Gators Online. “One of the top recruiters of ours, no doubt. That said, we were very surprised with how cool everything was in our visit. Top-notch facilities, awesome campus, and seeing the Swamp. After that, it was a priority to get back for a game, hence the early-season visit.

“I am excited for us to get to know Nape more this fall, as I hear good things and he seems like a great guy from afar. I think the fit for Ry is there in scheme and school. I’m excited to see them take a step forward this fall.”

Montgomery is ranked No. 197 overall and No. 12 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 210 and 15, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Ohio State Buckeyes in the lead for his talents with a 24.1% chance of signing him, while the Michigan Wolverines (18.8%), Kentucky Wildcats (8.1%) and Penn State Nittany Lions (6.8%) trail behind.
