Highlights: Rookie Brandin Podziemski notches 12 points in California Classic debut

In his Summer League debut with the Warriors, first round pick Brandin Podziemski notched 12 points in the California Classic opener against the Kings.

With the start of the California Classic, the top pick from the Golden State Warriors’ draft class was set to make his debut in blue and gold on Monday in Sacramento.

For the first time since being draft just under two week ago, first round pick Brandin Podziemski suited up for his Summer League debut in the California Classic against the Kings.

In 30 minutes, Podziemski showed off a varity of skills in the backcourt, scoring 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from field to go along with six assists and six boards in Golden State’s 100-94 loss to the Kings. The Santa Clara product knocked down one of his three attempts from beyond the arc on Monday against the Kings.

The 6-foot-5 combo guard will have the chance to build on his Summer League campaign on Wednesday in a showdown with No. 2 overall pick Brandon Miller and the Charlotte Hornets.

Podziemski and the Warriors will tip off against the Hornets at 3 p.m. PT on Wednesday for their second California Classic game in Sacramento.
