Here’s where the Patriots would draft if the season ended today

With Sunday’s loss to the Bills, the Patriots climbed back up the draft board.

The New England Patriots took a loss on the football field, but they earned a win on the 2024 NFL draft board.

On Sunday, the Patriots fell in defeat to the Buffalo Bills at Orchard Park, bringing their overall record to 4-12 on the season.

With the loss and a shocking Week 17 upset win by the Arizona Cardinals against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Patriots are now slated to pick at No. 3 overall in the upcoming draft. That would put them in striking distance of one of the top-three quarterbacks.

The Washington Commanders are expected to take a quarterback, but the Chicago Bears could opt to build around Justin Fields, which means there’s a chance that Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels could all be in play for the Patriots.

Granted, that’s assuming they lose in next week’s season finale against the New York Jets. A loss would guarantee the Patriots a top-three pick, while a win could knock them out of the quarterback sweepstakes entirely.

The next 10 years of the franchise could be riding on whether the Patriots win or lose against the Jets. How’s that for a dramatic conclusion to the 2023 season?
