Has there ever been a worse high-profile failure in the NBA than the Brooklyn Nets experiment?

Has the near-decade of entanglement between the two teams finally ended?

The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets became inextricably entangled when the Celtics’ last title core was dealt to the Nets by then-team president Danny Ainge for the picks and players that built Boston’s current contending iteration while Brooklyn famously flopped.

The joke seemed to be on the Celtics for a hot second however when star point guard Kyrie Irving left the team to join Kevin Durant in Brooklyn. However, Irving’s mercurial temperament caused that situation to implode as well. Has there ever been such a hapless NBA franchise in the history of the league?

Michael Holley, Michael Felger and Chris Mannix of NBC Sports Boston recently debated this question and came away from the exercise with some strong opinions.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
