Despite only being the head coach at Ohio State for just two full seasons, I think it is safe to say Ryan Day has already earned a spot in Buckeye football history. He has no doubt earned an uproarious happy birthday from the fans and us here at Buckeyes Wire!
The 2019 Big Ten Coach of the Year turns a still very young, 42 years old today, and with Nick Saban still going strong while turning 70 this season, this should allow Ohio State fans to breathe a sigh of relief and expect another 20 years of greatness from Day.
OK, maybe expecting Day to stick around Columbus for two more decades is a bit extreme, but the young offensive genius has shown no signs of departure and should build off his current coaching record of 23-2 for a long time. The New Hampshire native has been with the Buckeye program since 2017 when he was hired as the offensive coordinator and retained that role until being elevated to full-time head coach in 2018.
