Hannah Rankin vs. Maria Lindberg odds, picks and prediction: women’s IBO, WBA super welterweight championship

Breaking down Friday’s Hannah Rankin vs. Maria Lindberg women’s IBO, WBA super welterweight championship fight, with boxing odds, picks and predictions.

In a 10-round women’s super welterweight IBO and WBA title bout, Hannah Rankin and Maria Lindberg meet Friday at the Tottenham Hotspur FC’s Banqueting Hall. The main event is expected to take place at approximately 10:30 p.m. ET. Below, we break down the Rankin vs. Lindberg odds and lines, with boxing picks and predictions.

Rankin won on points last time out against Kholosa Ndobayini at Pollsmoor Prison Hall in Cape Town, South Africa March 12. It was a fight on Ndobayini’s home soil, so an impressive victory to follow up a TKO loss to Savannah Marshall at Wembley in her prior fight Oct. 31, 2020.

Rankin is just 2-2 across her past four fights, but each was a title bout. In fact, four of her five career losses are fights for the strap.

Lindberg, like her opponent, has several losses in her career. Seven, to be exact. However, all seven of those setbacks were in title fights. The 44-year-old is getting a little long in the tooth, so this might be one of her final chances at regaining boxing glory.

Rankin vs. Lindberg predictions and picks

This bout features a 31-year-old up-and-comer, the first-ever women’s champion from Scotland. She’ll be facing Lindberg, the 44-year-old veteran getting near the end of her career.

I think the age difference will be a huge factor. RANKIN (-600) is just faster, and perhaps a little stronger at this juncture. There isn’t a lot of value betting a heavy favorite like the Scottish fighter, but perhaps tie this wager in with the Mikaela Mayer-Maiva Hamadouche fight, as well as maybe a cross combat sports betting ticket with some UFC action, lessening the risk and sweetening the reward.
