Handing out grades from the Texas Longhorns-Oklahoma State game on Saturday

Following the Texas Longhorns upset win over Oklahoma State, we hand out grades for the team. Which unit was the best on Saturday?

Special Teams: A

The special teams unit was a strength for the team on this night. In recent games they have had their issues punting the ball and protecting their punter. However, against Oklahoma State those issues did not show up. Ryan Bujcevski averaged 47.1 yards per punt, of his nine punts five were inside the 20-yard line. His longest of the night went 58 yards. The punt coverage team allowed 20 total yards on returns.

Cameron Dicker nailed both of his field goal attempts on the night. One from 20 yards out when the team couldn’t capitalize in a goal to go situation and the other from 40. He did miss an extra point that required the team to go for two late to extend the lead to three.

The biggest play of the game on special teams didn’t come from the kickers. D’Shawn Jamison took the kickoff with the Longhorns down 31-20 in the third quarter. He found a crease and it was off to the races, with his speed no one was going to catch him. That was Jamison’s third kickoff return for a touchdown.
