Handing out grades from the Texas Longhorns-Oklahoma State game on Saturday

Following the Texas Longhorns upset win over Oklahoma State, we hand out grades for the team. Which unit was the best on Saturday?

Offense: C+

The offense as a whole would be much lower on the grading scale based on their performance on Saturday. Just from a pure statistical standpoint they converted 17 first downs. On third down conversions, the Longhorns converted 2-15. The running game averaged just three yards per attempt and 4.8 yards per attempt through the air.

The total offensive output accounted for 287 yards. The difference for the Longhorns is they were able to capitalize on four Oklahoma State turnovers. They turned those into 18 points. Outside of overtime, the offense generated just 16 points without the benefit.

Quarterback Sam Ehlinger did was he always does in these situations, he finds a way to get this team in position for the win. Facing a fourth down and seven late in the game, it was all on the line. He scrambled out of the pocket until he found Jake Smith in the end zone. That score gave them the lead and was much needed to force overtime.
