Good Samaritan gives Ohio State head coach Ryan Day a helping hand

Even the head football coach at Ohio State battles parking. By the looks of it, a student helped Ryan Day out with an expired meter.

As it turns out, high-profile head football coaches are human too. We’ve all been there before, making a trip to the city for a personal issue or business related matter. And then, the worst part, trying to find parking on the street and time your adventure just right as not to overpay or even worse… underpay and be at the mercy of the meter maid and possible parking ticket.

It seems being the head coach at The Ohio State University doesn’t exempt you from these kinds of everyday, average joe type problems. Apparently, Ryan Day had some business to take care of in town that went a little longer than expected. But never fear, when you’re one of the most well-known figures in the state of Ohio, (and you’re winning games) someone is going to have your back.

Twitter user @Will_Palmer_36 recognized Day’s vehicle and noticed the meter had expired. Palmer being an Ohio State fan decided to help the coach out and deposit a few coins to keep Day on the legal side of the law.

Coach Day was genuinely thankful and tweeted back at Palmer saying “Wow thanks!!”

Honestly, it probably cost less than a dollar to help out in this situation. But judging by Day’s response, sometimes it’s the little things that mean the most.

And we get it, a small parking fine isn’t going to break the bank for a coach who is making $4.5 million per year. It probably wouldn’t break the bank for most of us either. But that’s not the point. We’ve all had a similar feeling when little things like that happen and when someone comes to our rescue unexpectedly, it is a gesture we won’t soon forget.

Well done, Will Palmer. Well done.

Now, what if Jim Harbaugh were in the same predicament?
