The New York Giants are now 1-7 following their 25-23 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8 and that means they remain very much in the race for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

If the regular season were to end today, the Giants would select second overall with the New York Jets selecting first overall.

Here’s a quick look at the order through the top five:

  1. New York Jets
  2. New York Giants
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars
  4. Miami Dolphins (from Houston Texans)
  5. Atlanta Falcons

Sitting just outside of the top five are the Dallas Cowboys, who would select sixth overall. The Washington Football Team is just behind them at No. 7 overall.

The Philadelphia Eagles, who lead the NFC East with a 3-4-1 record, would select 19th overall if the regular season were to end today.

The Giants square off with Washington in Week 9, which could drastically alter both team’s positions in the draft — which is something that seems all too familiar.
