Giants’ Blake Martinez meets with fans, offers advice via Zoom

New York Giants LB Blake Martinez recently met with fans through Lifestyles for the Disabled and offered up stories and life advice.

It has been a weird offseason for the entire NFL as they have been dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, but the league still has their schedule out and continue to expect to begin the season on time as the pandemic continues to linger.

Free agency was one of the first things to be impacted by the virus, but the show did go on. Among the New York Giants’ biggest acquisitions in free agency was Blake Martinez, who came over from the Green Bay Packers.

Off the field, Martinez is already gaining fans before ever stepping on the field and trying to be a difference maker for Big Blue.

The Stanford product, who spent his first four years of his career with the Packers, recently shared what went into his decision to join the Giants via free agency. New York can be a tough place to play but Martinez seems poised to succeed.

Martinez met with NFL fans at Lifestyles for the Disabled via a virtual Zoom call.

Martinez spoke about growing up in football and interacted with the fans on the Zoom call. The Lifestyle for the Disabled staff along with the participants were excited to bring Martinez onto the video conference.

Giants director of communications, Ethan Medley, help set up the meeting with Martinez. Medley acknowledged the recent loss in the Lifestyles for the Disabled organization.

“You guys have lost a great leader recently in your organization. I hope that today’s moment was a nice tribute to the time Scott has placed in each of your lives. On behalf of the New York Giants, I just want to express that and hope the time with Blake was a good celebration,” said Medley, via silive.com.

As fans get excited for Martinez on the field, it’s nice to see him get a head start being a model citizen off the field. The Giants hope he can make as much of an impact when Big Blue hits the field this fall.
