Giannis opens up about his ties with Jrue Holiday after trade to Boston Celtics

He also hints at a potential reunion with Jrue in the future.

Players may change teams but rarely do their bonds break with that change. At least, exception when they play one another on their new teams, anyway — a point underlined by recent comments of Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo to Andscape’s Marc J. Spears about the trade of former teammate Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics.

“I wish him and his wife and his kids and his extended family the best,” explained The Greek Freak. “They always took care of me and my family. They always were nice and kind to me. They gave everything they could for not just the Milwaukee Bucks organization, but the city, (and) the community.”

“And again, I wish him the best in the next chapter wow with the Boston Celtics — not against us; against everybody else,” he added. “But it’s definitely bittersweet.”

“He had something about him that allowed you, when you were next to him, to feel good about yourself,” said Giannis of Holiday. “I’m definitely going to miss it.”

“And again, I wish him the best in everything that he does. And you never know down the road, you still might be teammates again. I love him. I don’t love him as a basketball player. I love him as a brother.”
