Geronimo Allison wasn’t an ex-Lion for long. The Lions brought the veteran wide receiver back to Detroit two days after releasing Allison by adding him to the practice squad on Thursday morning.
Allison was waived earlier this week after seeing little action and failing to catch a pass in three games. He was signed as a free agent from the Green Bay Packers prior to the 2020 season and was expected to help the team as a field-stretching vertical threat. But Allison opted out of the 2020 season and did not find a role in 2021.
To make room for Allison on the practice squad, the team released wide receiver Travis Jonsen. The move to bring back Allison was widely expected upon his release.
