Georgia football OL signee Broderick Jones injures leg in motor bike accident

The No. 2 OL in the 2020 class, and Georgia football signee Broderick Jones has suffered a lower leg injury due to a motor bike accident.

5-star class of 2020 offensive lineman Broderick Jones, who committed to Georgia this past winter, has recently suffered a lower leg injury in a motor biking accident, per Dawgs247.

The injury comes less than two months prior to the Bulldogs’ season opener against Virginia, scheduled for September 7th.

This is not the news Dawg fans needed right now, following the departure of some key offensive linemen this offseason.  The 6-foot-5, 300 pounder out of Lithonia, GA was expected to seriously compete for a starting position this fall, but that could now be delayed.

The severity surrounding this injury is not yet clear, but according to Dawgs247’s Jake Rowe, it could be a 1-2 month recovery, putting week one up in the air for Jones.

Jones was an instrumental piece to Georgia’s No. 1 overall 2020 recruiting class.  He is rated as the No. 2 offensive tackle in the country as well as the No. 11 overall player.

This is yet another curveball of 2020 delivered to Kirby Smart and the Georgia coaching staff that they will need to deal with.  We will provide more updates on Jones’ injury as they become available.
