Georgia football offers scholarship to elite in-state DE

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to Appling County HS defensive end Darris Smith, who also has Auburn and Tennessee offers.

The Georgia Bulldogs and defensive coordinator Dan Lanning have offered a scholarship to Darris Smith. Darris Smith is a talented in-state defensive end, who plays for Appling County High School in Baxley, Georgia. Baxley is located in the southern part of Georgia.

Darris Smith is a member of the class of 2022. He’s got excellent length at six-foot-six, but he only weighs 225 pounds. Smith will look at add on some weight before potentially playing in the SEC.

Smith is not currently rated by many of the recruiting sites. Recruiting sites have limited data on players this season due to the lack of all-star camps.

Smith haves received scholarship offers from numerous major college football programs including: Tennessee, UNC, Auburn, Michigan State, South Carolina, and more.

Darris Smith’s eleventh scholarship offer comes from the University of Georgia. Smith may be more of an outside linebacker at his size in Georgia’s 3-4 defensive scheme.
