Geno Smith, Travis Kelce share mutual respect ahead of Christmas Eve game

If the Seahawks are going to upset the Chiefs today, they’ll have to find a way to slow down Travis Kelce.

If the Seahawks are going to upset the Chiefs today, they’ll have to find a way to slow down Travis Kelce. Indisputably the best tight end in the sport today, Kelce has posted over 1,000 receiving yards in eight straight seasons. This year he’s up to 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns on 91 catches.

Geno Smith certainly has respect for Kelce and it appears the feeling is mutual. The two shared some love for eachother on Twitter last night. It began with Eagles center Jason Kelce teasing his brother on their podcast:

Smith joked that he’ll have to line up at safety today to settle it:

Kelce replied that it’ll be tough enough the way Geno has been throwing the ball this year.

Smith replied with some more love and respect.

Seattle’s best shot at stopping Kelce would have been covering him with safety Ryan Neal, but he’s been ruled out due to a knee injury. Johnathan Abram and Teez Tabor will be rotating reps in his place.
