Overall: A
Wisconsin was able to put together an impressive performance against Ohio State as they played well both on offense and defense.
The Badgers were able to close the first half strong allowing them to control the game and even when Ohio State started the second half on a 7-0 run the Badgers responded by building the lead to as big as 24 points.
Trice was one of the reasons why Wisconsin was able to have success on the offensive end as he once again did an excellent job of distributing the basketball. Trice finished the game with eight assists to three turnovers. Trice over the last four games has led Wisconsin in assists in each game and has registered at least five assists per contest. Trice’s ability to consistently help set up his teammates has been impressive as of late.
Obviously, Pritzl played a good game for Wisconsin but so did the entire bench. The 30 points by the bench were the most since Wisconsin’s bench scored 31 in the win against Penn State. While Pritzl was having success from three Anderson was too.
Considering Anderson who entered the game only have made five total 3-pointers and only made two three’s in one game this year was one of four Badgers to make at least two of his 3-point attempts. Not to mention at one point Anderson scored five straight points as he broke the tie at 15 and ultimately gave the Badgers the lead for good.
Game MVP: Brevin Pritzl
For the second time, this season Pritzl led Wisconsin in scoring and for the first time since Wisconsin’s win over Marquette. Pritzl was one of the main reasons why Wisconsin was able to end the first half the way they did as he was responsible for six of the 16 points Wisconsin scored. And with Ohio State looking to cut into Wisconsin’s lead to begin the second half by scoring the first seven points it was Pritzl for the Badgers to score the first five points of the second half. Pritzl’s play to end the first half and to begin the second half helped the Badgers play with a double-digit lead over the last 20 minutes and make sure to not give the Buckeyes any real hope of finding a way of getting back in the game.
