Freshman All-American QB Roy Thomas Jenkins to visit Texas in April

He’s a name to watch for the 2025 class and will likely become one of the top in-state quarterbacks.

One of the fastest rising prospects in the 2025 recruiting class is expected to visit Texas next month.

Freshman All-American quarterback Roy Thomas Jenkins announced via Twitter that he will be taking a visit to Texas on April 16. The Beaumont native has already received offers from Texas A&M and Houston, while schools such as Clemson, Arkansas, Georgia, Duke, Mississippi State and Texas have expressed interest.

In 2021, Jenkins completed 140 passes for 2,216 yards and 28 touchdowns as a freshman for Monsignor Kelly Catholic. He added on 20 rushes for 35 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Jenkins participated in the FBU Freshman All-American Bowl this past December to compete against some of the top young talent in the nation. Other notable players that have appeared in this game in the past include Trevor Lawrence and Christian McCaffrey.

Although it’s extremely early on in his recruitment, Jenkins is expected to be one of the top in-state quarterbacks for the 2025 cycle. He has the talent to become one of the top signal-callers in the country as well.

Texas is quickly becoming an attractive place for quarterbacks to continue their playing career now that offensive guru Steve Sarkisian is leading the program.
