FOX College Football crew identifies Ohio State running back Trey Sermon as impact transfer

The FOX College Football crew identified Ohio State running back Trey Sermon as one of the top five impact transfers in college football.

In today’s day and age of college football, convincing the right kid to transfer to your program can turn a decent year into a great one. Just over the last couple of years, we’ve seen guys like Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Justin Fields land with new teams and have dynamic seasons that have catapulted their new teams to extraordinary heights.

With transfers becoming more and more of a thing than what it has been in the past, and with the success many have seen of kids going to a program and making an immediate impact, that trend doesn’t look to be quieting anytime soon.

The FOX College Football crew touched on transfers during a segment they put together this past week, trying to identify some of the impact transfers for 2020. And wouldn’t you know it, Ohio State running back Trey Sermon was one of the guys singled out by the likes of Urban Meyer, Joel Klatt, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn, and Rob Stone.

In fact, Trey Sermon showed up in every one of their top five impact transfers. Meyer, Lienart, and Stone ranked the former Sooner as the No. 1 impact transfer, while Klatt, Bush, and Quinn ranked him No. 3. The fans also picked Sermon overall at the top.

You have to believe that with the weapons and offensive line Ohio State looks to be ready to roll out in 2020, that Sermon could live up to the hype. He’s going to have some big shoes to fill with the departure of J.K Dobbins, and he still has to battle Master Teague, but it could be a fun year for the kid from Marietta, Georgia.
