Four-star shooting guard out of New York commits to Ohio State

On Friday evening, four-star shooting guard Roddy Gayle announced his decision to commit to the Ohio State basketball program.

Who said Friday the 13th was scary?

On a day when Ohio State basketball signed three players to its 2021 recruiting class, it also got a huge commitment for the 2022 class. Four-star shooting guard Roddy Gayle made it known that he’s ready to be a Buckeye when he announced his decision at a ceremony at Lewiston Porter Senior High School in Youngstown, NY.

At 6-foot, 4-inches, and 195 pounds, Gayle is rated as the No. 7 shooting guard and 76th overall prospect in the 2022 class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Gayle joins shooting guard Bowan Hardman as the second commit to the class, one that currently ranks as No. 2 in the country and Big Ten behind only Michigan State. But it’s extremely early obviously.

Gayle chose Ohio State over Connecticut, Syracuse, Marquette, Georgetown, and Pitt.

Welcome to the Buckeye brotherhood Gayle!
